Considering a monk

Post  luciea on Wed Apr 01, 2009 9:51 am

Ok, my rampant jealousy/loathing of the monk has taken me to a place where I feel like if I can't beat em, join em! I'm considering a monk.

I've looked at ddo wiki and saw that they are impervious to all things at high lvl. Poison, check. Disease, check. High ac, check. High spell resistance, check.

I'm thinking that I'd want to get one with a high ac. I'm thinking that some combo of monk, ranger, and pally would be a good combo. 2 lvls of pally would give an ac boost and lay on hands. Some lvls of ranger to add 2 weapon fighting and possibly enough to get tempest (not sure how many lvls of ranger to take) and the rest in monk. A high Wis score meshes nicely with pallys and rangers for spell casting. Having to put some points into cha might make taking pally lvls a luxury one shouldn't indulge in...

In any event, I'd love some feedback on this build and what race you think I should choose if this is a good route to go. Thanks!

If you splash palidin, your not doing it for lay on hands, your doing it for the save boost....
but with the save boost, you have to put points in cha...
monks have too many stats they need....
str, dex, con, wis.....
int and cha are the only stats they can sacrafice...
