I was blown away by this movie. Although a major sci-fi geek I was skeptical before I went to see it, but walked out very impressed. Storyline is a rehash, but it was all done very very well. I could have watched another hour or two easy.

I did see an article that said Cameron has a story arc for two more movies....

Ya its an awesome movie. People say the story isnt that good in it, and its the graphics that make the movie.
But thats because they compare it to a movie called dancing with wolves?? (something like that), but i havent seen that movie, which makes this movie have an original story to it.

Also this movie has a pretty awesome soundtrack to it.

probably the only movie ive ever seen that i wish was longer.. despite it already being almost 3 hours.

i heard that the sequel (if one is made) would possibly be on another moon, and that it could be relased within a couple years (2011 or 2012)

I just saw the movie tonight in 3D. It was so awesome!! The effects were great. And yes, the storyline was all done before...but that is the way most movies are. I absolutely loved it...I can't wait for it to come out on DVD now

The thing about this movie is that it is so much better in theatres, and in 3d (hence why it has so much pirating and still making a boat load of cash).

Not sure what it will be like on dvd, but i cant wait either way!!

I'm sure they will have a 3D version on dvd. I looooooooooooved it!

They probably will, but the kind of 3d this movie uses requires a special type of tv. right now the only time ive heard of is a dlp (digital light projection? something like that) tv.

China is renaming their mountains due to Avatar... This slightly scares me and at the same time is just awesome.

well maybe not the most recent.... but probably the best known out of the bunch. I thought Last Samurai sucked btw....

I'm Still on the contengent that Atlantis didn't get half the respect it deserved. It wins out of raw style for me. The mixed neo-victorian steam punk + the mystical high art lost civilization. It was a great thematic contrast.
