I'll keep this short and breif.
After quitting ddo to travel and work, and not playing for many months.
I doubt I will be returning.
I love you all, but I feel like my course is complete with ddo.

Trit is a TWF Warchanter, dual wielding Khopeshes. Since update 5 went live, combat with him feels a lot slower than it had in the past. I can't decide if it's mental trickery on my part of if the speed has really changed. From reading the release notes, I can't see anything that would affect speed.

Have I missed something in the notes or am I just playing mind games with myself?

It is not mental trickery, they have slowed down the combat. You have fewer attacks per round. They slowed down the combat speed and added a chance to double strike with your main hand (10% for Tempest III) and gave your off hand a chance to proc an attack (as apposed to automatically attacking with off hand). Although for a tempest III I believe it is 100% proc rate. However since they have reduced the number of total attacks per sequence you are getting a hit of about 15% in total DPS.

I too have noticed a change in attack speeds for both my Tempest and my 19th level fighter.

I don't mind them balancing out DPS, but the speed just doesn't feel right. It feels like slow motion, almost like an instant replay. Laughing
