What a noob

After what I done tonight, I thought it might be kinda fun to start a thread where people could post some of their mistakes they have made while playing this game. I'll go first.


While in the shroud tonight, I hit the Word of Recall spell instead of my DVs. We were on the LAST fight and the pit fiend was almost dead...

Next....

How 'bout what I did two nights ago and die in the first few mins of the Reaver. I was the main Cleric and kept getting knocked down by air elementals.

That happened to me the 2nd time I ran the reaver.

And Zee, I got ya beat. The first time we attempted the reaver that night, I got locked out by a big blue barrier. We had to drop group and reform. Remember?? Man I am such a noob!!

Well, maybe we should have made a count before proceeding or asked if all were there first. It wasn't your fault at all.

...But you're still a NOOB.

Fayyth, you and Raucous getting caught behind the barrier was my fault. I forgot to mention about not being so far back. I go just past the line in the floor and I know I'm safe. I did that, but as the leader, I should have made sure everyone was up. My bad.

Oh, and though I should have told you to come up, you're still a noob. Just FYI.

Here is a whole chain of noob events.....

Me, Tex, Ezzie, Bedunk, and Grim (I think) were running one of the DQ pre reqs (the one where you go over all of the bridges and kill the aspects) and someone fell off the bridge into the lavabelow (once again I think it was grim, but it may have been someone else...)

NOOB Move#1 - Morrek (me) jumps into the lava to save him. First I realize there is no way back up, and second I realize I have the key to the locked door. I die in the lava and the key is submerged. Bedunk jumps down and after several attampts retrieves the key. Ezzie jumps down also to try and get the key and help Buff Bedunk for his Lava Swim. Now half the party is standing on this little rock with no way to get back up.

NOOB Move#2 - Tex is playing his sorc and does not have D-Door. He recalls out and goes and buys a single D-Door scroll of the AH for 4K Plat. Tex runs all the way back to the quest, gets inside, jumps down to us to cast D-Door, AND THEN REALIZES AFTER HE BOUGHT IT THAT HE NEVER GOT IT FROM HIS MAILBOX.....

So Tex recalls again... gets the scroll and runs back. During this time Hyrin or Klerex (cant remember which) joins the party. As Tex is floating down to us Hyrin or Klerex casts D-Door (he has it memorized) before Tex can use his scroll.

All I can say is thank god it was an all-guild group.... This was 45 minutes of uber-noobness at it's best...

I may have some of the names wrong so correct me if you were there....

OH my goodness Morrek. That was HILARIOUS!

And Luceia, it was my fault. I wasn't trying to blame anyone for my noob-ness.

Ya we were all laughing hysterically about it... especially when Tex realized he left the scroll in the mailbox.... good times.

Here's another GREAT NOOB MOMENT:

We're doing a guild raid of Velah, the red dragon. I'm on one of my rogues (I think Ezzie, because this was a LONG time ago). We've finished all but the end room, all the people with blue juice are making their way back into the end room, and I talk to the guy that closes the door...... Hanover (one of our clerics...NOT in the guild) isn't in yet.......I died of embarrassment that night!!!!!!!!! What's even better is....he joined the guild after the raid (go figure!!!!) I was the winner of NOOBNESS that night

As much as I would like to take credit for the lava dive in DQ preraid, sadly I was not on that run. I just logged on after you guys completed that. It was a great moment. Guess my Noob moment would be trying to get the sequence for the force bridges in the Titan. More frustration hearing everyone down below saying the timing is off. After 20 mintes of counting, we got through.

There are too many other noob moments to count. Hit res on accident, running off in the wrong direction, taking a few lava dives in other quest, for getting to put featherfall back on, forgetting were I put my underwater action, losing my way in the pit, and mostly being a unstoppable, untouchable, zerging barbarian dwarf who never thinks he takes damage. (Thanks Ezzie and all the other healers who waisted there heal scrolls.)

This is what makes this guild fun!

hmmm must have been Looting then, my memory is horrible ....

My bonehead noob moves are plentiful! There's literally too many to choose. I guess my favorite was when I got Bacha to lvl8 or 9 (whichever is the lvl to get the raise dead spell) and I went to run that quest in House K where at the end, you fight the beholder. What is that? Caverns of Korrimar? The one with the excavations.

Anyway, we go through the quest, and it's been tough. For the levels that we had and the difficulty level, our PUG group was struggling, but we made it to the beholder. They told me to stay on top and rez people as they die from the beholder.

Ok, first guy dies, I use Undying Call to raise him. Second guy dies, and I click on my Raise Dead button in my hot bar and......NO COMPONENTS! I forgot to buy components after I levelled her! So there we were, waiting for 10minutes per rez to go by so I could raise dead with Undying Call. I was pretty embarrassed!

Somehow it was Fayyth's fault, even though I hadn't even met her at the time.

Almost forgot about the time I wanted to log off and quit the Guild instead on Grimwald. To the future noob move!

I had to do my first walk of shame from the Hound today. Forgot to get the quest.

AAWWWW! Hopefully it was an all guild raid.

How about when I formed the hound raid and forgot to get the quest.

Fayyth may not have formed the group... but we were running it to keep her happy...

Once you start running the hound religiously, it was a pre-requisite to make the walk of shame.
I've done it before too...when I was the group leader
